2021 Scholarship Application Deadline is April 23, 2021
Bayou Industrial Group (BIG) is now accepting applications for its 2021 college scholarship program. Graduating high school seniors in Lafourche, Terrebonne, Assumption and St. Mary Parishes who will be enrolled at Nicholls State University or Fletcher Technical Community College in Fall 2021 are eligible. The deadline to mail the completed scholarship application and required attachments is Friday, April 23, 2021. Scholarship recipients will be notified by July and scholarship payements are made directly to Nicholls and to Fletcher. BIG membership is not required, but special consideration will be given to children or grandchildren of BIG members/employees of BIG member companies.

2021 BIG Scholarship Application
Each year, Bayou Industrial Group awards scholarships to graduating high school seniors in the Bayou Region for enrollment at Nicholls State University and Fletcher Technical Community College. The BIG Scholarship Fund is supported by contributions from members with annual dues, the BIG Seafood Social for Scholarships, and other scholarship fundraising activities that may be held throughout the year.
In 2020, BIG awarded $24,000 in scholarships to 10 local students. Thank you for your support of the BIG Scholarship Fund and congratulations to these students!
2020 BIG Scholarship Recipients
Fletcher scholarship award winners are:
- Angel Bergeron, a graduate of Ellender High School
- Tylor Mayon, a graduate of Morgan City High School
- Huy Nguyen (hu-wee n’win), a graduate of Terrebonne High School
- Kelci Benoit, a graduate of E D White Catholic High School and the daughter of Kevin Benoit who is employed at BIG member company John Deere
Nicholls scholarship award winners are:
- Mickie Thibodaux, a graduate of Thibodaux High School
- Jess Pierce, a graduate of South Lafourche High School whose mother Joy Pierce is employed by BIG member Lafourche Parish Public Schools
- Saadi Thibodaux, a graduate of Vandebilt Catholic High School
- Aaliyah Write, a graduate of South Terrebonne High School whose mother Susan Thomas works at BIG member company Hancock Whitney
- Brandon Bergeron, a graduate of Terrebonne High School
- Alivia Vizier, a graduate of South Lafourche High School
